New Living Room Rug!

I’m eager to dive into some holiday-themed posts, but wanted to squeeze this one in before I do. Guys! I got a new living room rug! Really, it’s a new OLD living room rug, and I’m so into it. I bought our previous black and white one right around the time we moved in five years ago. While it wasn’t a purchase made out of love, it filled a need and was affordable so I made it work. But I’ve had my (side) eye out hoping for something better for awhile.

Before & After – A Pretty in Peach Dresser for the Nursery

Warning: if you're a wood purist maybe skip this one.

When it comes to painted furniture I land somewhere in the middle. I'd almost always prefer a beautiful piece left un-doctored than risk witnessing a midcentury stunner slathered in chalk paint and stenciled decals. But sometimes, GASP! I do think a fresh coat of paint can actually better serve a vintage piece of furniture – specifically if you're starting out with something like this:

Small Changes Transform This Former Sunroom Turned Primary Bath

Ready for Part II?

I love how my client's master bedroom turned out, but their en suite bath really has my heart. The luxury of such a spacious bathroom isn't something most of us may ever enjoy, but when I walked into their room and caught my first glimpse of that free-standing claw foot tub, surrounded by walls of windows and all that glorious natural light, I knew it could be something special!

A Primary Bedroom Fit for a Grown-up Bohemian

Hooray! I'm finally getting my act together and posting the completed Bohemian Meets Luxe Master Bedroom Makeover. I decided to split the bedroom and bathroom into two posts because there are just too many good photos (thanks, Bethany!). So check back in a few days for the finished bathroom.

But for now, here's a refresher on how the bedroom started out:

Modern Colonial Dining Room Reveal

Ok, let's acknowledge the obvious. I have a thing for green dining rooms, I guess.

A few weeks back I revealed Katy and Josh's completed entryway. Just as with their entry, Katy's affinity for traditional design coupled with a healthy dose of lighthearted joviality steered the overall direction for the dining room. This room wasn't actually part of the original scope of the project, but as I worked on the adjacent entryway I naturally started to form ideas on how we could easily refresh this space too.

Modern Colonial Entryway Reveal

Oh hi! This post is long overdue!

Earlier this year Katy approached me about helping with her new home. She, with her husband Josh and their two young daughters, had recently relocated back to Omaha, purchasing and settling into their house just in time for the birth of their newest family members, twin girls! After a welcomed adjustment period, she was itching for the chance to tackle some projects and start making their house feel like home.

Table Setting for Wedding Essentials Magazine

Early last month I had the privilege of styling a vibrant table setting for an issue in Wedding Essentials Magazine. The theme for the editorial – as developed by Art Director, Heidi Thorson – was Embroidered Moments, focusing on subtle textures, lively color, and that free-spirited bohemian whimsy I'm all about. The issue just went live last week which means you can check it out here!

Living Room Gallery Wall Fit for a Colorful Maximalist Soul

Right after Christmas whilst un-decking my halls, and officially determining this the final year for my hot pink Christmas tree, I realized I was ready to move on from our living room's pink accent wall as well. Something about a new year called for a fresh start and I was anxious for a cleaner slate. I dipped into a can of my trusted Valspar Du Jour and got to work erasing all traces of my 2014 color-crazed zeal.
